A TEDDY BEAR CHARITY STALL IN THE BOURNEMOUTH
LOWER PLEASURE GARDENS – for 25p per ticket you could win one of the many different prizes. All profits go towards the future
of Bournemouth Carnival Week.

RAFFLE – Raffle tickets will be available during the week at the
Charity Stall and at All events from Committee members; 20p per
ticket and prizes Include: Travel Vouchers; Wines; Spirits; Chocolates;
Family tickets to various theme parks and more.

  • 7.30 pm - SELECTION OF CARNIVAL QUEEN; PRINCE CONSORT; PRINCESS
    AND PAGE BOY

Selection of CARNIVAL QUEEN, PRINCE CONSORT (14-20 years of age), PRINCESS & PAGE BOY (10-13 years of age).
This opportunity is open to all young people resident within the BH1 to BH12 Postcode areas and hosted by Lucy Rednapp.

The elected Court will lead the Bournemouth Carnival on Sunday 7 August and at other carnivals or fetes in the area as requested and in some functions for the Mayor of Bournemouth as required

MONDAY – 1 AUGUST  
 

ALUM CHINE

  • 10.30 am - "Superstars" events with your friendly Carnival Crew to get the week
    off to a good energetic start.

Open to all children up to the age of 16 years in an enclosure on the sand.

 
  • 11.00 am - The first of our Sand Building Contests so bring your buckets, spades and anything else required to impress the judges with your creative designs.

Open to all children up to the age of 16 years and depending on number of entries they will be split into three age groups. Prizes in each group.

 
  • 2.00 pm - More creativity, this time with Chalk Drawing, will we find the next Monet?
Open to all children up to 16 years. Entrants will be split into three age groups depending on numbers and the best three in each age group will receive prizes.
Event will take place in a marked off area on the promenade. Chalks supplied.

  • 5.00 pm - Duck Racing for parents and children with ducks to race for only 20p - Great Fun!

Plastic Ducks supplied on payment of 20p entry fee. There will be a minimum of 12 heats with 12 ducks each race; the winner of each heat will go to final race and the winner of the final will receive a Special Prize award.

Two young local lads OFF THE AVENUE show their talent with acoustic guitars followed shortly afterwards by THE CHOIR and then hold on to your hats.
  6.00pm Musical Presentation KINDRED SPIRITS get you foot tapping with their covers of popular music, followed by MOHOOTY, a local indie band to wind this busy day down.

Assembly of vehicles at Monkey Island, East Overcliff Drive.
 
  • 12.00 pm - Judging of entries for the Bournemouth 2011 Carnival Procession

  • 1.00 pm - Judging of walking entries for the Carnival Procession
 
 
  • 1.15 pm - Announcement of winners and presentation or prizes
 
 
  • 2.30 pm - Carnival Procession moves off
Procession moves off and will follow the following route: Along East Overcliff Drive, down Russell Cotes Rd, into Bath Rd, over to Westover Rd, through Gervis Place, across Old Christchurch Rd and into Yelverton Rd, over Richmond Hill and down St Stephen's Rd, right into Braidley Road, left into Meyrick Park Drive where we end up at Meyrick Park for dispersal.
CAUTION AT MEYRICK PARK AS HEAVY VEHICLES WILL BE TURNING IN THIS AREA!
